An Open Letter to Our Patients

Best Fertility Doctor in Dallas

Our practice has some difficult news to share with our patients.  On October 28th, J. Michael Putman, MD passed away from natural causes.  As you can imagine, this was an unexpected and traumatic event, and we are heartbroken about this shocking development.

As we work though our own grief, however, our primary concern is for our patients and to ensure that there is continuity of care.

Recently, Dr. Putman announced to his office staff, that he was planning to retire next year in April 2024, and developed a continuity plan for his practice and patients.

Earlier this month, Dr. Putman and Dallas-Fort Worth Fertility Associates agreed to a merger whereby Dallas-Fort Worth Fertility Associates would provide a physician, Dr. Monica Chung, to begin seeing patients in January 2024, before his retirement in April 2024.

Due to this tragic development and sudden loss, Drs. Monica Chung and Samuel J. Chantilis will be available to provide continuity of care for his patients currently in treatment beginning Monday, October 30, 2023.

Dr. Monica Chung is a Dallas native who completed her OB/Gyn residency at UT Southwestern Medical School, and Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility Fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.  She recently joined Dallas-Fort Worth Fertility Associates and is looking forward to working at Baylor Scott and White Medical Center in downtown Dallas.  This is familiar territory for Dr. Monica Chung because her father, Dr. Paul Chung, is a medical internist physician that also practices on the BSW campus.

As you can imagine, we are shaken to our core about Dr. Putman’s demise but are working hard behind the scenes to ensure that the care of his patients is continuous, and compassionate.  Dr. J. Michael Putman and Dr. Samuel J. Chantilis, founder of Dallas-Fort Worth Fertility Associates, had detailed discussions about the continuity of care and were looking forward to a smooth transition.

We hope that our patients will help us honor his legacy by continuing care at Fertility Center of Dallas with Dr. Monica Chung and other experienced physicians from Dallas-Fort Worth Fertility Associates.

We extend our deepest condolences to Dr. Putman’s family and friends.
