Here in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, we are blessed with plenty to do, see, experience and explore that doesn’t cost a penny. Some of those opportunities are the ideal setting for the romantic date night you’re desperate for while trying to maintain an IVF-friendly budget.

The Dallas Arts District
Most of the museums in The Dallas Arts District offer completely free admission to their general galleries. When you combine that, along with the ability to bring a picnic to the adjacent, 5.2 acre Klyde Warren Park, you have a Date Night (or Weekend Day-te) that offers plenty to ooh, aaah and connect over via beautiful art collections from all over the world. If you have a bit of cash to spare, you can skip the picnic take advantage of the awesome Sunday Food Trucks.
Laugh Together at The Dallas Comedy House
The couple who laughs together stays together, right? If that’s the case, we recommend stretching your date night into the weekly calendar and setting aside a Tuesday evening once in a while. Every Tuesday night, the Dallas Comedy House hosts a free open-mic session where you get to see some great comedy (and, we admit, occasionally there’s some not-so-great comedy) without having to pay a cover or ticket charge.
Enjoy Free Samples (among lots of other things) at the Dallas Farmer’s Market
We know people who go to Sam’s Club purely for the free samples. For a date, though, we recommend somewhere a little more upscale and entertaining – like the Dallas Farmers Market. On Saturdays, the DFM is the place to be – and as you stroll, you’ll be treated to lots of delicious free samples. Plus, their dedication to creating a healthy and more sustainable Texas aligns perfectly with your fertility goals since your healthy lifestyle choices are integral to a healthy pregnancy.
Free Live Performances at Good Records
Have you been to Good Records before? If not, it’s worth checking out – date night or not. Good Records is known for its pre-party “Live from the Astroturf” gigs – always free and often featuring the hottest new indie bands out there. They also do great things for local bands and musician launch parties – so it’s worth being on the Good Records mailing list. Lose Yourself in Dallas’s Underground Tunnels
Nope, it’s not an urban legend; Dallas really does have miles of underground passages that connect key areas and buildings of the city outside the typical street/sidewalk routes. Officially dubbed The Dallas Pedestrian Network, these tunnels are a fun and unique place to explore and get lost…leading to all kinds of shenanigans that movie-worthy love scenes are made of.
Play 80s Video Games, Life-Sized Jenga and More at Barcadia
Barcadia is the best place for fun-loving, 80s nostalgic adults to hang out and have fun. Their wall of 80s-style arcade games only costs $.25 (one quarter) each to play – but on Freeplay Texas Tuesdays – they’re free. And, the bartender is happy to make non-alcoholic drinks for expecting (or hoping to expect soon) moms.
