Today Show Meets Uterus Transplant Mothers

Today Show Meets Uterus Transplant Mothers

Following the fourth birth of a child from a uterus transplant, The TODAY Show contacted Baylor University Medical Center part of Baylor, Scott & White in Dallas and created this piece where 2 of the new mothers were able to discuss their journey from facing infertility, to uterine transplant, to IVF, pregnancy, childbirth, to finally holding her first child in her arms.

Dr. Putman and Dr. Zhang performed the In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) part of the process. When conducting an innovative trial such as this one, researchers work to find the very best medical professionals in their field to oversee each aspect of the procedure, giving themselves the best chances of producing optimal results.

TODAY’s Sheinelle Jones sits down with Peyton Meave and Kayla Edwards, two mothers who didn’t believe carrying a baby was in the cards for them until they took part in our clinical trial. They open up about the uterus transplants they received and how their procedures allowed them to have babies on their own.

Keep an eye out for our very own doctors in this very special piece!
